Longtime Eminem and D12 fan Paris Tackett was recently cast as a background extra in the official music video for D12’s brand-new single “Tear It Down” featuring Xzibit and B-Real. The track is the lead single from the group’s highly anticipated album D12 Forever, set for release in June 2026, with the single itself dropping later this month in April 2026. The video has not yet been released.
To give fans the full context, Brad sent Paris the complete list of questions below. Paris answered them exactly as shown — word-for-word from her email:
1. How did you end up getting cast in the D12 video? (How’d they find you or how did you hear about it?)
“I actually found out about the opportunity through an official casting call that was being shared around on social media. At first I was a little hesitant, just because you never know what’s legit, but everything checked out and the communication came directly from verified pages. Once I realized it was real, I submitted right away. Being a longtime fan, it felt like one of those “why not go for it?” moments. I didn’t expect anything to come from it, so when I got selected, it honestly felt surreal.”
2. What was your actual role in the video? (background/extra, dancer, featured part, etc.)
“I (along with 15-20 other lucky people) were cast as background extras, but it honestly felt more like we were the hype crowd than anything. Instead of just standing around, we were really part of the energy of the scene. There were moments where we were fully engaged in what was happening, which made it feel way more immersive and exciting. Even without a featured role, it felt like we played a big part in setting the tone and making the whole video feel alive.”
3. What was the most memorable moment from the shoot?
“The most memorable moment for me was when Swifty took the time to personally thank me for being there. They were super strict about no phones at all—like, they literally checked them—so I wasn’t expecting anything like that. But at the end, he actually let me turn my phone back on just to take a picture with him. It was such a small gesture, but it meant so much. It made the whole experience feel really personal and genuine, and not just like I was another extra on set.”
4. What was the energy like on set? Was it chaotic, fun, professional, or something else?
“The energy on set was honestly very chill and laid back. Even though it was a big production, nothing felt overly tense or stressful. People were just kind of in the moment, doing their thing, and enjoying the experience. It made it really easy to feel comfortable and just go with the flow, which added to how fun the whole day was.”
5. What were the D12 members like in person? Any funny stories or vibes that stood out?
“They were all really chill and down to earth, and there was a lot of joking around on set, which made the whole vibe feel relaxed and fun. You could tell they were comfortable in their space and not taking things too seriously in a good way.”
6. Since we’re both huge Eminem fans and that’s part of why you went for the video, did you get a chance to talk about Eminem with any of the D12 members? What did they say or what was their vibe when his name came up?
“Not directly with the D12 members, but I did think a lot about Eminem being part of the whole D12 legacy while I was on set, especially with how long it had been since they’d all filmed together and all the rumors about the video. It was definitely on my mind the whole time. I did get to talk about him with some of the other extras though, and there was a lot of excitement and curiosity around whether he was going to appear. It kind of added to the buzz on set because everyone was speculating and just hoping to catch a glimpse of something unexpected.”
7. How far did you have to travel for the shoot?
“It was about a 10-hour drive each way, so it was definitely a LONG trip. I left at around 2am to make it there on time, filmed the video, and then turned right back around and headed home afterward. It ended up being a really long day with a lot of travel and very little rest, but honestly it was so worth it. The experience itself made the whole journey feel meaningful, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.”
8. How long did the whole thing take (travel + filming)?
“Roughly 2hrs from start to finish.”
9. Did you have to do any special prep beforehand (audition, choreography practice, wardrobe, etc.)?
“There wasn’t anything super intense like choreography rehearsals, but I did have to come prepared in terms of wardrobe and being camera-ready. It was more about fitting the vibe they were going for than learning anything specific ahead of time. I also made sure to be mentally prepared, just knowing it would be a long and potentially unpredictable day.”
10. Was there anything that surprised you during the experience?
“One thing that really surprised me was how much waiting is involved. You always imagine it being constant action, but there are a lot of pauses while things get set up. Also, the level of coordination behind the scenes was impressive, so many moving parts that you don’t even think about when you’re just watching the final video.”
12. How did it feel seeing yourself on camera or watching the final video for the first time?
“The video hasn’t been released yet, but I’m honestly really excited to see it when it drops. Just knowing I was part of it makes me curious to see how everything came together in the final cut, especially after being there on set and experiencing it in real time. It already felt special being involved, so I think seeing it all edited and finished is going to be a really surreal moment.”
13. Would you do it again? Has this experience made you want to do more music videos or acting stuff?
“Absolutely, I would do it again in a heartbeat. The whole experience was so cool, and it honestly gave me a real appreciation for being on set and seeing how everything comes together. It was exciting, fast-paced, but also really fun and memorable. I’d love to do more experiences like this in the future!”
