Kid Rock Pulled Eminem Off “7 Sins.” He Didn't Cut Him From the Album, He Moved Him to Track 5.

Three days before Halfway 2 Jesus comes out, Kid Rock shuffled the credits. Lil Wayne is in on "7 Sins." Eminem is still on the record, just somewhere else.

We wrote in early October about Kid Rock's tracklist for Halfway 2 Jesus, which listed Eminem as a feature on track 3, "7 Sins." On Wednesday, October 14, three days before the album's October 17 release, Kid Rock posted an updated tracklist on X. The caption reads simply "H2J track listing." The credits on "7 Sins" have changed: Lil Wayne is now the featured artist on that song. Eminem has not been dropped from the album. His verse has been moved to a different track, "Heal My Faith," listed at number 5.

What actually moved

Per the reporting on Kid Rock's post, the new 17-track list runs: 1. Freedom, 2. James 1:17, 3. 7 Sins (w/ Lil Wayne), 4. Why Don't You Look Into Jesus, 5. Heal My Faith (w/ Eminem), 6. Water Into Wine, 7. Halfway 2 Jesus (w/ Gary LeVox and Jimmie Allen), 8. I Don't Drink The Whiskey Anymore, 9. Me and Jesus, 10. God Is Good, 11. Into the Setting Sun, 12. Broken Hearted People, 13. 'Til You Can't, 14. Why Don't You Look Into Jesus (RIRI Mix), 15. High Road, 16. Procession, 17. God Bless The USA. That is one new title, "Heal My Faith," that did not appear on the tracklist Kid Rock posted on October 1.

Complex, which first reported the swap, says Kid Rock announced the change in a video he posted alongside the new graphic, and framed it around the mixed reaction his Eminem pairing drew online. As quoted by Complex, Kid Rock said the album's contributors "all don't think the same," pointing to a mix of guests who do not share his politics. Whiskey Riff, which also covered the video, quotes him saying of Lil Wayne, "Another very good friend of mine... is now on '7 Sins,'" and telling viewers who might be unhappy that Eminem left that song, "It'll probably not make you very happy to hear that Eminem is still on the album. He's just on another song now, called 'Heal My Faith.'" We were able to independently verify the tracklist graphic itself through Kid Rock's own X post. We could not independently verify the exact wording of the spoken quotes, since neither outlet published a full transcript or a link to the original video, so treat those two lines as reported by Complex and Whiskey Riff rather than confirmed firsthand.

Why this isn't the first time the credits moved

"7 Sins" has been a moving target since Kid Rock first posted the Halfway 2 Jesus cover and tracklist on October 1. At that point, Complex had confirmed with Eminem's camp that the feature was real, not a fan edit, and we went through the full 28-year history between the two Detroit artists that made the pairing plausible despite the political distance between them. Days later, once the backlash to a Trump-aligned rock star and a Harris-rally regular sharing a song had built up, we covered the reaction and noted that Eminem's verse itself had still never been heard by anyone outside the studio. That remains true of "Heal My Faith" as of this writing.

Kid Rock also laid out his thinking on the pairing in a Fox News sit-down with Lara Trump, which we covered in full: he described a long-standing understanding with Eminem not to let political disagreement end the friendship, and called him a "class act." Nothing in that interview mentioned a track swap, and it predates this week's change. Separately, Lil Wayne has talked this year about admiring Eminem's writing, though that conversation was about envy of specific bars, not about any plan to appear on a Kid Rock record. There is no indication the two stories are connected beyond Wayne now landing a spot that was previously Eminem's.

What is still unconfirmed

Eminem has not personally commented on the swap, on "Heal My Faith," or on being moved off "7 Sins." As with the original tracklist reveal, everything about the reasoning here comes from Kid Rock, not from Eminem or his manager Paul Rosenberg. Nobody has published a clip, lyric, or studio photo from either "7 Sins" with Lil Wayne or "Heal My Faith" with Eminem. The title "Heal My Faith" itself is new information as of this week; we have no details yet on its subject matter, length, or whether Eminem's verse is new or recycled from an earlier session, the same question fans raised about "7 Sins" back in October.

Halfway 2 Jesus is still due Saturday, October 17, which is also Eminem's 54th birthday. Once the album is actually out, both songs will be checkable against what Kid Rock and the outlets covering this have said. Until then, this is the state of the record: Lil Wayne in on "7 Sins," Eminem moved to "Heal My Faith," and the actual bars still unheard by anyone outside the two camps.
