“Heal My Faith” Is Out. Reddit Had the Full Kid Rock and Eminem Song 17 Hours Before the U.S. Did.
Kid Rock and Eminem's “Heal My Faith” is officially out on Halfway 2 Jesus, and Eminem has finally spoken about it. But r/Eminem had the full 4:17 track at 7:05 a.m. ET on Friday, almost a full day before the U.S. release. Here is what Eminem raps on it, the timeline, where that upload most likely came from, and how fans reacted.
By @bradleymines ·
The song is real, it's track 5 on Halfway 2 Jesus, and Eminem has broken his silence on it. The first anyone heard of it, though, was a Reddit upload posted around breakfast time Friday in the U.S.
After two weeks of tracklist changes, a last-minute swap and Kid Rock's explanation of it, the song exists. "Heal My Faith" by Kid Rock featuring Eminem is out now as track 5 on Kid Rock's Halfway 2 Jesus. Spotify lists the album release as October 17, 2026, which is also Eminem's 54th birthday, credits it to Top Dog Records, and puts the song at 4:18. Lil Wayne is on "7 Sins," the song Eminem was originally announced for.
For the first time since Kid Rock posted the original tracklist on October 1, Eminem has said something about it himself. At 12:22 a.m. ET, 22 minutes after the album went live in the U.S., he posted a short video on X with a link to the album:
Eminem's October 17 post: "Not about choosing sides, just choosing to make music with my old friend. Praying for all of us. #HealMyFaith @KidRock." View it on X.
Ten minutes after Eminem's post, Kid Rock put out his own release announcement, then reposted Eminem and replied to him with a single handshake emoji. His post read: "'HALFWAY 2 JESUS' is OUT NOW ✝️ Lit up Times Square, now go stream it, share it, play it loud," with a link to the "Heal My Faith" lyric video on YouTube.

The official lyric video
The lyric video, titled "Heal My Faith (Lyric Video) Kid Rock and Eminem'" (the stray apostrophe is in the original title), went up on Kid Rock's official YouTube channel at 6:52 p.m. ET on Friday, October 16. That was about five hours before the album reached U.S. streaming services. The description reads simply: "Kid Rock and Eminem's new song from Kid Rock's new album, Halfway 2 Jesus."
Kid Rock told Billboard this week that "Heal My Faith" was the first song he brought to Eminem, roughly a year ago, under the working titles "Lord Above" and "Show Me Love." He described Eminem's final verse as "wrapping up our whole history from like, day one," including the Oakwood Apartments and Kid Rock turning up to support him at a Slim Shady release show, and singled out one line: "He's my brother, not my political enemy." Kid Rock also told Billboard he used the AI program Suno on the album, "mostly to craft full choir arrangements and some orchestrations." That matters for the reaction below, because a lot of fans think Eminem's vocal sounds processed. Nobody involved has said that Eminem's own vocal was AI-assisted, and we have no evidence that it was.
What Eminem actually raps
Eminem has one verse on the song, despite listening-session write-ups that hinted at more, and he spends all of it on his history with Kid Rock. There is no diss and no victory lap. He opens on Kid Rock's own early records, saying he used to play The Polyfuze Method "like every two seconds" and naming "The Prodigal Son" and Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast, then lands in 1997 at the memory the song is built around: Kid Rock turning up to the Viper Room release party for The Slim Shady EP, before Eminem had a deal.
Eminem, "Heal My Faith": "The Viper Room release party for my CD, The Slim Shady EP, Kid came to see me. I was nobody, he came to my show to see me."
From there the verse moves through Dr. Dre signing him ("Dre ultimately saved my life"), the two of them staying at the Oakwood apartments in California a few months later while recording at the same studio, and the 1998 track they made together, "Fuck Off," from Kid Rock's Devil Without a Cause. It closes on the line Kid Rock had already quoted to Billboard, followed by the pitch of the whole song:
Eminem, "Heal My Faith": "My homie and me, he is my brother, not my political enemy ... However you voted or lean, liberal or even evangelical, can agree, it's God first, home of the free."
Lyrics as transcribed by eminem.news. The Viper Room, Dre and Oakwood lines match the transcription published by Rapologia, and the "brother, not my political enemy" line matches Kid Rock's own quote to Billboard. There is no official lyric sheet yet, so small wording differences are possible.
That message is the same one we wrote about when the collaboration was first confirmed: a friendship of nearly 30 years that both men say outlasts their politics, with Kid Rock a Trump supporter and Eminem a longtime critic. eminem.news described the first reactions to the verse itself as split three ways. Some fans compared the flow to The Eminem Show era or to "Yellow Brick Road," some called it monotone, and some could not get past the collaboration at all.
How the song got to Reddit first
The U.S. release was midnight Eastern on October 17. The full song was posted to Reddit nearly 17 hours before that. This is the timeline we could reconstruct from post timestamps (converted to Eastern time):
- Sunday, October 11, 6:33 p.m. ET: A post titled "EMINEM x KID ROCK LEAK!!!" went up on r/Eminem_2, the smaller fan subreddit, as a video uploaded directly to Reddit. Most commenters called it AI. One said it "came from a discord server and they themselves admitted it was AI and for a joke." We couldn't verify that. Commenters on the real track later contrasted it with "that 'AI leak'," and it was not the released "Heal My Faith."
- Friday, October 16, 7:05 a.m. ET: Reddit user u/piomat100 posted "[FULL TRACK] Kid Rock ft. Eminem - Heal My Faith" to r/Eminem. It isn't a link to Spotify, a pre-save page or a file host. It's a video uploaded directly to Reddit, 4 minutes 17 seconds long, with the cover art over the audio, according to one of the first comments. That matches the length of the released track. The first replies came within five minutes. Two hours in, one commenter was still asking, "Has this been confirmed it's legit?"
- 8:11 a.m. ET: The same 4:17 audio turned up on X from @Dunne08, an Eminem collector based in Ireland. As of this writing that post has roughly 598,000 views, and other accounts have been reposting the video.
- 6:12 p.m. ET: In the r/Eminem thread, a user wrote: "Just hit oct 17 in central Europe and Kid Rocks album became available on Spotify. I can sadly confirm that this is real."
- 6:52 p.m. ET: The official lyric video went up on Kid Rock's YouTube channel. Eighteen minutes later it was posted to r/Eminem as "OFFICIAL", and r/hiphopheads got a [FRESH] post at 10:18 p.m. ET.
- Saturday, October 17, 12:00 a.m. ET: U.S. release. Eminem's post followed at 12:22 a.m., Kid Rock's at 12:32 a.m.
Was it a leak?
Probably not in the usual sense. 7:05 a.m. ET on October 16 was 12:05 a.m. on October 17 in New Zealand. Streaming services roll out a new release at local midnight market by market, and New Zealand is normally the first big market to hit midnight. The Reddit upload appeared five minutes after that. The later comment confirming Spotify availability as Europe hit midnight is the same rollout reaching another region. Spotify itself gives the release date as October 17. So the most likely explanation is that someone ripped the song from the album once it went live in New Zealand or nearby, and posted it in a U.S. morning, many hours before American fans could stream it.
To be clear about what we can't confirm: u/piomat100 never said where the audio came from, and we have not verified directly that the album went live in New Zealand at that minute. We found no evidence of a leaked Spotify link, pre-release URI, pre-save page or label upload behind the post. The audio was re-uploaded straight to Reddit. If you have screenshots showing the album live in New Zealand or Australia on the morning of October 16 U.S. time, send them over and we'll update this.
How fans reacted
Because the song showed up early, r/Eminem spent most of Friday reviewing it before it was officially out, and it went badly. The most common complaint in the full-track thread was about Eminem's vocal sound, not the politics. "Why does he sound like a robot?" one early reply asked. Another wrote, "Is it an AI filter again? What for? In TDOSS, this helped to reveal the album's concept." Several pointed to yet another reference to Dr. Dre signing him. One user ranked it as Eminem's new worst song. Some disagreed. "This one is quite specifically about how much he loves Kid Rock though," one reply said, and a separate thread posted overnight was titled "Am I the only one who liked his Kid Rock verse?" By Saturday morning there was also a "hot take" post calling it Eminem's best work in a long time, and fans had already started posting edits that try to strip the vocal effect off.
On X, the reaction split mostly along the political lines Kid Rock has been arguing with for two weeks. As of this writing, Eminem's post had about 3,800 likes, 600 replies and 200 quote posts. Many of the quotes are critical. "By not choosing sides, you've chosen a side," one reads. Another lists "White America, Mosh, Untouchable, Like Home, BET Cypher" and argues "It's always been about choosing sides." Others came at it from the opposite side. One fan pointed out that Eminem "wrote a whole verse speaking against POTUS" and had "earned the benefit of the doubt," and another took the second Eminem feature in under a month as a sign that "That Album is close." Some accounts are still insisting the whole song is AI, even with the release on Kid Rock's official channels and Eminem's own post.
On Instagram, Kid Rock's October 14 announcement video is still the main post about the song. That's the one where he says Eminem is "just on another song now, called 'Heal My Faith'":
Kid Rock's own Instagram reel, captioned "An update for 'Halfway 2 Jesus' 10-17-26." View it on Instagram.
What's settled and what isn't
Settled: the song is real, it's on Halfway 2 Jesus as track 5, it's on Kid Rock's official YouTube and on streaming services, and Eminem has publicly endorsed it. Still open: whether the "7 Sins" verse Eminem originally recorded will ever come out (Kid Rock has only said it was swapped out), and exactly how the Reddit upload was sourced. Eminem's post is still the only thing he has said about any of this, and it's two sentences long.
